03/07 Saturday

7:00 PM Mill City Trio

Jamie Dunphy-guitar
Greg Passler-guitar and bass
Tony D'Anna-drums
with special guest, Drew Dunphy-narrator

Tonight's performance will feature three pieces with narration, including the premiere of "The Syncopated Bird," perfomed by the Mill City Trio. This comic tale about an awkward pigeon who wants to swing was written by Drew Dunphy with original music by his brother, Jamie Dunphy.

Also on tonight's program:
"Canyon Echoes," composed by Katherine Hoover and performed by Eileen Yarrison-flute, Jamie Dunphy-guitar and Jo-Ann Wangh-narrator. Based on an Appalachian folktale, this poignant story is brought to life by Hoover's colorful musical palette.

"Ferdinand the Bull," composed by Munro Leaf and Alan Ridout and performed by Lynn Basil-violin and Jo-Ann Wangh-narrator. This light-hearted story is paired with a brilliant, at times even virtuosic, solo violin part.
