The Poludaktulos Orchestra

The Poludaktulos Orchestra (the "Many-Fingered Orchestra") originated
as a unique spin on northern Greek brass band music. The group is
evolving to encompass a diverse repertoire of dance-friendly tunes
from around the Balkans. With a rhythm section that includes tuba and
accordion, as well as electric guitar and a heavy horn section, the
Poludaktulos Orchestra brings the Balkan-style party!

Michiel Braam – Piano
Wilbert de Joode – Double bass
Michael Vatcher - Drums

Trio BraamDeJoodeVatcher comprises three of the Dutch jazz scene’s most idiosyncratic musicians, for whom freedom and adventure are essential values. They all play an absolutely equal role in the music, which can go in any which way, depending on decisions made on the spot.

The trio shines in short powerful pieces, honoring the jazz tradition by pushing it ahead with consummate, dazzling skill. The trio combines a playful incorporation and expansion of older forms with a great adventurousness.

For the latest program Change This Song Michiel Braam wrote 18 small compositions, which can be played in any given order, mood or style. All titles are anagrams of ‘change this song’, a reference to the trio’s playful approach to the music.

Pianist Michiel Braam is yet another superb performer who perfectly encapsulates everything that's made New Dutch Swing one of the most consistently lively and enjoyable scenes in contemporary jazz.
With powerhouse bassist Wilbert de Joode and drummer extraordinaire Michael Vatcher behind him all the way it's no wonder Braam delivers some of the most confident and enjoyable piano work I've heard in recent years.
(Dan Warborton, Paris Transatlantic)

The trio has one of the most integrated sounds I’ve heard from any such grouping. They travel the continuum from Trad to Free with ease and dexterity. This one’s for lovers and haters of the piano trio alike – don’t miss out!
(Marc Medwin, Cadence)

If only more jazz were as much fun as Trio BraamDeJoodeVatcher’s.
For other ambitious groups, improvising complex, ever-changing music is serious business indeed. These guys make it giddy fun you can’t get enough of. The band epitomizes what makes much Dutch jazz so peculiarly entertaining. This trio is a treasure.
