7:00 PM The Never / Windmills / Twain

The Never are a conceptual pop rock band from Chapel Hill, NC, touring in anticipation of their 3rd full-length, a follow-up to Antarctica: a storybook record, released on Trekky Records in 2006. Inspired by the read-along records of your childhood, Antarctica is a full album coupled with a fully illustrated storybook. Complete with 40 oil paintings by Noah Smith, the story and songs follow the journey of a country boy on his way to return a nuclear bomb to the city. The album is arranged in such a way that one can listen to the songs and read along; enjoying music, art and written word simultaneously.

"Confident, competent, and altogether charming"
- Delusions of Adequacy

"There's something instantly endearing about a band that intentionally bucks trends. The inherent bravery required to step apart from the pack can be irresistible, especially when the music by the band in question is top-shelf quality."
-Billboard

"[The Never] had their go at a concept album, and, not only do they nail the mark, they’ve practically reinvented the idea."
-Discorder

Windmills (Boston, MA) play the complex and beautiful compositions from students at Berklee College of Music.

the music of twain happens in Mat Davidson's room, but that's as
much as he can take credit for. the actual creative process can be
attributed to Five Ghosts (cherry ghost, hairy ghost, scary ghost,
weary ghost, fairy ghost) whose dispositions are curt, but never
hostile. they arrive unannounced, sometimes in twos, or altogether,
but never alone. of the Five, two play instruments, two sing and
write, and the fifth, who doesn't seem to have any outward involvement
in the music at all, mostly just reads books and encourages the other
four. mat doesn't really mind the Ghosts, but he probably wouldn't
miss them too much if they didn't come back...
