10:00 PM Either/Orchestra
The ten-piece Either/Orchestra has spending a lot of time over the past two years collaborating with Ethiopian musicians, most recently, Ethiopia's greatest singer, Mahmoud Ahmed, for a pair of concerts in Paris. Ethiopian songs have become an integral part of the 20 year old band's repertoire.
Now, Russ Gershon and crew are working up a new batch of - yes! - American music, compositions by Gershon and other band members for a new recording to be made this summer. They will be using a series of dates at the Pad to hone these new tunes.
The Either/Orchestra is:
Tom Halter, Colin Fisher - trumpets
Joel Yennior - trombone
Jeremy Udden - alto sax, flute
Russ Gershon - tenor, soprano sax
Kurtis Rivers - baritone sax, flute
Leo Blanco - piano
Rick McLaughlin - bass
Pablo Bencid - drums
Vicente Lebron - congas, percussion
